BC Flags

Tifo Tuesday: Flags

Yesterday was National Flag Day, so for today's #TifoTuesday we once again went with flags. For the past 3 seasons during the #VoyageursCup we have been doing a progressive flag display.

2013 - The first year we kept it simple and went with held Canada flags with the large Voyageurs flag in the front and centre of it all. The photo here was captured by Christopher Vose ahead of the 2nd Leg of the Finale vs. Montreal. It was our second display of the night. We had done the #ForYouForUsForVancouver display during the player entry...when they used to come out of the supporters' end in the #westcurva.

2014 - For the second year, the 2nd Leg of the semi-final vs. #TFC, we went with our #BC provincial flag. This time we worked with our friends in the @vancouversouthsiders to cover the entire #curva. Approximately 400 flags were a part of this display. Thanks to @kiltedcasper taking this photo from the top of our section, 203/204.

2015 - Last season, for the 2nd Leg of the Finale vs. #IMFC, we worked with @vancouversouthsiders & @raincitybrigade do a display of roughly 500 #CityOfVancouver flags. This display was augmented by word banners across the front rows of both sides of the tunnel. On the #VSS side was the motto of #VanCity: " BY SEA, LAND, AND AIR WE PROSPER". On our side of the tunnel it read "ON THE PITCH WE CONQUER!!" Thanks to our own @cascadianlion taking this photo of the entire end. This was of course the night we had all been waiting so long for...the night we finally lifted The Voyageurs Cup @bcplacestadium!

Visual displays of support are vital to who we are and how we support. If you want to donate your time, talent, or resources to our efforts, please be in touch:

Much Love,

Now that the new CBA has been agreed on (in principle), everyone can get back to focusing on what is most important...‪#‎GivingTheirAll‬ in support of our players on the pitch!

A few new things and few reminders as we head into a massive weekend...

If you want to support with us in section 203/204 at BC Place, please email curvacollective@gmail.com. We have season tickets (White or Green section), single match tickets, and we can work on anything in between. The only way to get tickets directly in our section is through us.

Everyone is welcome to join us on Friday, March 6th at 6:30pm at The Devil's Elbow (or TDE as we call it) to take in the LA vs. Chicago match (7:00pm Kickoff). TDE will be the place you'll find us for all home fixture, both pre and post match. On Saturday, March 7th we'll probably finds us there around noon (for the Montreal vs. DC game).

We are having a special gathering for our visit away match of the season. We are hosting a viewing in the upper ballroom at the Vancouver Alpen Club. If you have ever been there for a World Cup/Euro/Champions' League match, you know what a great venue it is. This will also be a tifo fundraiser for our movement. Tickets are $15 each and include a bratwurst and beverage. You can send us an interact e-transfer, to curvacollective@gmail.com, to secure your ticket today. We'll be able to pick up your tickets at First Kick.

We also have a few things for sale. All proceeds from everything we sell go towards the efforts involved in creating and deploying our visual displays of support. Visit our store for more details. We currently have the vintage 4-Star Cascadia scarf ($20 each), BC Flags from last year's end wide flag display (available for a $10 donation), Bouncy Golden Footballs from last year's Domenic Mobilio display ($2 each), our original T-shirt ($20 each), and our new shirt ($20 each - available at or after First Kick). Please be in touch if you want to support the movement through the purchase/donation for any of the above.

A lot of work has gone in these past 4 or 5 months in preparation for 2015. We can't wait to do what we do this weekend! You can message here for details or you can get us at our g m a i l dot com account, which is our movements name (all in one word, lower case). Look for updates and more info on all of the above and more.
